Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 8, 2026

Clean Master: Storage Saver ("Clean Master", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, used, stored, and shared when you use our iOS application and related services.

We only request access to information that is necessary to provide the features you choose to use.

1. Information We Access and Use

1.1 Photos and Videos

With your permission, Clean Master may access photos and videos stored on your device in order to provide features such as duplicate photo detection, similar photo and video review, large-file management, swipe cleanup, and video compression.

Photo and video analysis is performed on your device. We do not upload or view your personal photos or videos for these cleaning features.

1.2 Usage, Advertising, and Diagnostic Data

We may collect limited usage, advertising, and diagnostic information to operate, analyze, personalize, and improve the app. This may include product interaction data, advertising data, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic information.

Some usage or advertising data may be linked to you or used for advertising purposes as described in our App Store privacy disclosures.

2. Google Gmail Access and Email Cleanup

Clean Master includes an optional Gmail cleanup feature. Gmail access is requested only when you choose to connect your Google account and use the email cleanup features.

2.1 Google Authorization

We use Google's OAuth authorization process to request access to your Gmail account. Clean Master does not ask for or receive your Google password.

You can choose whether to grant Gmail access. If you do not grant permission, Gmail cleanup features will not be available, but you can continue using the other features of Clean Master.

We request only the Google permissions that are necessary to provide the Gmail features available in the app.

2.2 Gmail Data We May Access

Depending on the Gmail feature you use and the permissions you grant, Clean Master may access Gmail data necessary to provide email cleanup functionality, including:

  • Sender information;
  • Email subject;
  • Date and time;
  • Message and thread identifiers;
  • Gmail labels and categories;
  • Email size or related message information;
  • Email headers, including unsubscribe-related information such as List-Unsubscribe;
  • Limited email content or attachment metadata when necessary to classify, display, or process emails for a feature you request.

We access Gmail data only to provide the email cleanup functions that you actively choose to use.

2.3 How We Use Gmail Data

Gmail data may be used to:

  • Categorize emails to help you review your inbox;
  • Group emails by sender or category;
  • Display emails that may be suitable for cleanup;
  • Allow you to select and delete unwanted emails;
  • Move selected emails to Gmail Trash when you request deletion;
  • Help you unsubscribe from mailing lists or senders when an unsubscribe option is available.

We do not use Gmail message content for advertising, ad targeting, user profiling, or unrelated analytics.

We do not sell Gmail data.

We do not share Gmail message content with advertising providers.

2.4 Email Deletion

When you choose to delete emails through Clean Master, the app may use Gmail APIs to move the selected messages or threads to Gmail Trash.

Unless otherwise clearly stated in the app, Clean Master does not permanently delete Gmail messages while bypassing Gmail Trash. Messages in Trash are handled according to Gmail's own settings and policies.

You are always responsible for reviewing the emails you select before confirming a cleanup action.

2.5 Unsubscribe Feature

When you choose to unsubscribe from a sender or mailing list, Clean Master may use unsubscribe information provided by the sender, such as a List-Unsubscribe link or another sender-provided unsubscribe method.

Completing an unsubscribe request may require information such as your email address or other information necessary to identify the subscription to be sent to the sender or the sender's unsubscribe service. This transmission is initiated only when you choose to unsubscribe and may be subject to the sender's or unsubscribe provider's own privacy practices.

2.6 Google User Data and Limited Use

Clean Master's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google user data obtained through Gmail APIs is used only to provide or improve user-facing Gmail cleanup features that are visible in Clean Master.

We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except when necessary to provide a user-requested feature with your consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or as otherwise permitted by the Google API Services User Data Policy.

2.7 Disconnecting Gmail Access

You may stop Clean Master's access to your Gmail account at any time by:

  • Disconnecting your Google account from within Clean Master, if that option is available; or
  • Revoking Clean Master's access from your Google Account settings.

After Gmail access is revoked, Clean Master will no longer be able to access new Gmail data through that authorization.

Authorization credentials and Gmail data are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Gmail feature, maintain the authorized connection, comply with legal obligations, or protect the security of our services.

3. Permissions and Your Choices

Clean Master may request permissions such as access to your photo library or your Google account only when needed for a feature you choose to use.

You may deny or revoke permissions at any time through iOS Settings, Google Account settings, or applicable in-app controls.

Some features may not function if the required permission is not granted.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information covered by this Privacy Policy to:

  • Provide and maintain app functionality;
  • Perform user-requested photo, video, and email cleanup actions;
  • Improve app stability and performance;
  • Understand product interaction and feature usage;
  • Detect crashes, errors, abuse, or security issues;
  • Provide advertising where applicable;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Google Gmail data is subject to the additional restrictions described in Section 2 and is not used for advertising or unrelated analytics.

5. Sharing of Information

We may use third-party service providers for services such as analytics, advertising, diagnostics, infrastructure, and app functionality.

We do not provide Gmail message content obtained through Google APIs to advertising or analytics providers.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, necessary to protect users or our services, or otherwise permitted with your consent.

6. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Photos and videos used for the app's media-cleaning features are processed on your device.

For Gmail features, authorization credentials or limited Gmail data may be processed or retained only as reasonably necessary to maintain the authorized connection and provide user-requested email cleanup functionality.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Third-Party Services

Clean Master may interact with third-party services, including Apple services, Google services, advertising providers, analytics providers, and other service providers.

Your use of third-party services may also be governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

For Gmail functionality, Google independently controls your Google account, Gmail service, Google OAuth authorization, and related account settings.

9. Children's Privacy

Clean Master is not intended for children under the minimum age permitted by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable legal requirements.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.

You may also revoke permissions and connected-account access at any time through the relevant device, Google Account, or in-app settings.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our app, features, legal requirements, or privacy practices.

If we materially change how Google user data is accessed or used, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any additional notice or consent required by applicable Google policies or law before using the data for a new purpose.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was last revised.

13. Google API Disclosure

Clean Master's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
